Dear Visitors to Boipeba Island,
Most of us know about the difficulty of paying for accomodation, meals and trips on the island with anything other than cash. There is information about this on most Boipeba websites but if social networking can assist, all the better!
Please let family and friends know that unfortunately there are no banks nor cash machines on the island. Few places on the island accept credit cards, debit cards, cheques or foreign currency and hardly any do in Moreré, neither in the pousadas, in the restaurants and nor for trips. With this in mind, it is best to bring cash to the island (with as many small denomination notes as possible).
Samburá de Moreré restaurant has an online payment service (Sistema BANCASH) which accepts Brazilian credit cards (Visa and Master).
We would really appreciate it if you would inform your friends and family about this. We hope that in this way we may help you, your family and friends to have a more relaxing holiday on this beautiful island.
